Maynooth travelled to Tom Lawlor Pk looking for their second win in this years league after a narrow victory over Celbridge last week, Raheens on the other hand were vying for a 3 in a row after defeating Sallins and Moorefield in recent weeks but what happened was a deserved draw game and a share of the spoils.
Maynooth had a quick start and opened the scoring with a point from play by Ciaran Hayes with just 30 seconds on the clock. It was another 6 mins before we saw another score this time with a converted free from Raheens Rob Thompson. Another 8 minutes went by before we saw the next score with 3 quick points from play for Maynooths Matthew Eustace, Paddy Mahoney and Ciaran Flanagan, Maynooth were now 4 points to 1 ahead. Raheens fought hard to get back in to it and on 18mins Jack Taaffe scored a point from play. Rob Thompson then converted another free quickly followed by a point from play by Daire Gilmartin leaving the sides level on 4 points a piece. Almost immediately Maynooth replied with a point from play from Sean Hever followed by a goal from number 13 Paddy Mahoney. The first half closed out with a couple of free kicks one for each side, Rob Thompson putting Raheens kick over the bar and Sean Hever doing likewise for Maynooth

Maynooth get the first point of the second half with a free kick from Sean Hever 3 mins in. A point from play for Raheens Conor Kelly 3 mins later and soon after followed by another free kick scored by Sean Hever. The next 10 minutes see Raheens take control of the game with a free taken by Rob Thompson, a point from play by Shane McSweeney, a goal from number 15 Jack Taaffe, another 2 frees one for Rob Thompson and the other for Jack Taaffe, Ten minutes to go and Raheens are ahead by 2 points. Its Maynooths turn now to up a gear and at the 22min mark they put over a point from play followed by another from Niall O Sullivan. Two quick points from play on the 27min one from Fionn O’Giollain and Maynooth are now 2 points ahead. The last 2 minutes see Raheens finish up the scoring with points from Colm Power and Jack Taaffe to see the game end all square .
