The commemoration to Larry Stanley will be unveiled tomorrow morning at 11.00am in the Parish Field. Larry Stanley was born in Blacktrench, won Kildare Championship medals with Blacktrench (Junior), Caragh (Senior) and Raheens (Senior), as well as All-Ireland medals with both Kildare (as captain) and Dublin. He was also one of Ireland’s first Olympians, representing Ireland in the high jump at the 1924 Paris games.

Congratulations to John Lawler and his committee for all their work in putting this commemoration in place. See a link to an article in today’s Irish Examiner below.
