The Raheens Ladies Senior management team, composed of David O'Brien, Sinead Early O'Brien, Rory O'Donovan, and Karen Clifford, have made the decision to step back after a truly exceptional journey. Their contributions to the team and club cannot be overstated, as they leave behind a legacy of success and professionalism that will be remembered for years to come.
David and Sinead, who have been the backbone of the team since its very foundation in 2016, have nurtured and built the team from the ground up. Rory, with his expertise, joined in 2020, adding further strength and insight, and Karen, who came on board in 2023, brought fresh energy and perspective to an already formidable setup.
Their leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment guided the team through a series of unparalleled successes. From the humble beginnings of Division 6 champions in 2021, they powered through to become Division 5 champions in 2022 and, most impressively, Division 4 champions in 2024, securing the team's place in Division 3 for 2025. This meteoric rise is a testament to their strategic brilliance and tireless dedication to the team’s growth.
Their championship achievements have been equally extraordinary. Winning the Junior C cup in 2019, followed by the Junior B cup in 2021, and then claiming the Junior A title in 2022, propelled the team into the Intermediate championship for the very first time in 2023—a momentous milestone in the club’s history. This year, the team once again shone in the Intermediate championship, advancing to the semi-final stage in 2024.
The speed and magnitude of their rise are nothing short of remarkable, and there are few—if any—teams that can boast such a phenomenal track record. This success is a direct reflection of the management team's unmatched dedication, meticulous planning, and passion for the game.
On behalf of everyone at Raheens GAA/LGFA, a heartfelt and sincere thank you goes out to David, Sinead, Rory, Karen, and the entire backroom team for their incredible contributions. Their impact on the club will be felt for years to come, and they have set a standard of excellence that will inspire future generations. We wish them nothing but continued success and happiness in their future footballing endeavours. They will always be a cherished part of the Raheens family.
